COVID 19 Update January 2021
As we enter into another year, we are hitting record numbers of COVID-19 in many parts of the United States. Many saw this coming with the non-compliant use of masks and large gatherings for the holidays.
Most recent numbers show that there have been just over 20,000,000 cases in the United States and sadly we are almost up to 400,000 deaths country-wide. Although many have been using masks properly and practicing social distancing, we need to come together and do what is right for those most at risk for serious outcomes.
Although many of us will never forget the almost year of COVID and counting we need to remember that numbers are climbing and it is imperative to follow the CDC and Health Department recommendations to slow the spread. Now, frontline workers are doing their part to stop the spread by receiving the COVID-19 vaccination. Silver Sitters care staff are currently receiving this 2 step vaccine as available. Knowing your loved one will be cared for by someone who is vaccinated provides peace of mind for the continued safety of your senior.
Below are the CDC Recommendations For Protecting Yourself and Others:
Wear a mask- make sure your mask is always covering your nose and mouth
Maintain 6 feet of social distance when near others
Do your best to avoid large gatherings
Avoid poorly ventilated spaces
Wash your hands often
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces often
Monitor your own health
VACCINATE – When available vaccinate yourself and your family
